Matocha, Jan ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Ragulová, Michaela (referee)
Among physiotherapists there is high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders, which disrupt their personal and work life. Substantial part of them reports, first disorders begun when they studied pregradual physiotherapy, which corresponds with modern research among physiotherapy students. The goal of this thesis is to measure prevalence of functional disorders in population of physiotherapy students. In this study were 23 participants with average age of 20, which consisted of 21 women and 2 men. All functional disorders were examined during practical courses in subject "Fyzioterapie I", according to methodology taught on 3. faculty of medicine on Charles University. Examined functional disorders consisted of: side differences of anatomical circumference of limbs, range of motion in joints, trigger points, shortened muscles, hypermobility and examination by sight. Muscle, which were shortened most often, was mm. erectores trunci and hamstring muscles. No significant difference was found in range of motion examination, same as in examination of length and circumference of limbs. Most prevalent pathology found in examination by sight was position of shoulders, pelvic, and examination with plumb line from side. Out of 56 muscles trigger points without motoric response were found in 39 % and trigger...
The influence of flossing band on range of motion of hip joint in grappling athletes.
Müller, Michael ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Vláčilová, Ivana (referee)
Title: The influence of flossing band on range of motion of hip joint in grappling athletes Objectives: The objective of this thesis is to determine the effectiveness of the therapeutic method "tissue flossing" in increasing the range of motion of hip rotations among recreational level grappling athletes, and whether this effect persists after a 60-minute grappling training session or during daily activities. Methods: The experimental research involved 20 healthy participants engaged in recreational- level-grappling. All participants were men aged between 18-35 years. The research consisted of four sets of measurements conducted in two rounds, referred to as input and output measurements. In the first set, an input measurement was taken to establish the baseline range of motion for hip rotation in the right lower extremity, followed by an output measurement of the values for external and internal rotation in the hip joint after a 60-minute grappling session led by an expert coach. The second set included both input and output measurements taken before and after the 60-minute training session. However, specific exercises to enhance hip rotations were incorporated before the second input measurement. The third measurement followed the same procedure as the second set, with the addition of treating...

Sedláková, Barbora ; Nováková, Tereza (advisor) ; Břečková, Gabriela (referee)
Title: Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment Objectives: The aim of this study was to determinate whether spontaneous activity of lower limb in the aquatic environment enable to determinate preferred swimming stroke of an individual. Also, whether identified asymmetry of the lower limbs during treading water depend on passive range of hip joints. Methods: Spontaneous activity of lower limbs in a vertical position with a hands and head out of water was recorded on video. Passive intra/extrarotion, flexion, extension, abduction in hip joints were measured using mechanical two-arm goniometer. Qualitative analysis of spontaneous activity of lower limbs recorded on video was conducted using Kinovea 0.8.15. Results: According to the results of our work, it can not be said that the preferred swimming stroke can be determined on the basis of the spontaneous activity of the lower limbs in a vertical position in the aquatic environment. We can assume that the individual chose the pattern of treading water according to an energetically economical way while minimizing resistive forces and not in pursuance of preferred swimming stroke. Bilateral asymmetry (left-right) during the water treading movement was detected in the whole group. The most significant...

Palpation pain proband evaluated using the Numeric Pain Rating Scale. The resulting data were processed using statistical software R. A paired t-test was used to calculate p-values. Statistical significance was assessed at the critical significance level of 0.05 and 0.01. Results: Our measurement did not show a statically...
The Influence of Specific Genes on Joint Hypermobility
Krýda, Tomáš ; Žatečka, Ladislav (advisor) ; Tomší, Adéla (referee)
This thesis is concerned with the influence of specific genes on the occurence of joint hypermobility. The main goal is to verify, whether the hypermobility test results differ among persons tested for the polymorphism of COL5A1, ACTN3, COL1A1 and GDF-5 gene with the respet to a particular genotype. The theoretical part of the thesis presented the specifics of sports genetics, general overview of the most important findings about hypermobilty, the manners in which it can be examined, its clinical features and also a detailed analysis of the role of the above stated genes, their association with health and performance attributes and their relation to hypermobility and range of motion. In the practical part, an examination of 15 probands (9 males and 6 females) at the age of 28,7 ± 5,6 years was conducted applying four scoring systems for measuring hypermobility. All probands were genetically tested by the PCR method. The statistical analysis was carried out by one-factor ANOVA. The statistical significance p < 0,05 wasn't reached with respect to any of the analysed genes. For SNP rs 12722 of COL5A1 gene, the average medians of the total hypermobilty score with respect to a particular genotype were 10,82 (CC), 7,30 (CT) and 10,99 (TT). For SNP rs 1815739 of ACTN3 the average medians of the total...
